Aim:

To make a simple touch switch using transistors

Description:
This type of touch switch is used in many applications. It can be used as a touch sensor in locker systems. It can also be used in place of regular switches in electrical control rooms.
Materials Required:
  • 2 BC547 transistors
  • Resistors: 270 Ω, 100 KΩ
  • LED
  • 2 AAA batteries
  • Breadboard Connectors
  • Breadboard
  • 6V battery
Circuit Diagram:

Variables

  • Variables are containers for storing data values.
  • Unlike other programming languages, Python has no command for declaring a variable.
  • A Variable has two parts – name and value.
  • To create a variable, you write the variable name, then an = symbol, followed by the variable value.
For example,
user_img-lg
Rules for Python Variable:
  • A variable name must start with a letter or the underscore character.
  • For example: age, name, student_name, etc.
  • A variable name cannot start with a number.
  • For example: 1student_name, etc.
  • A variable name can only contain alpha-numeric characters and underscores. (A-Z, 0-9 and _)
  • For example: Myname, student1name, student_name, etc.
  • Variable names are case-sensitive
  • For example: student, STUDENT.
    student = John, STUDENT = John Smith
    John -------> print(student)
    John Smith -------> print(STUDENT)
Program:
Write a program to add two numbers in Python.
num1 = 15
num2 = 12
#Adding two numbers.
sum = num1 + num2
#printing values.
print(“Sum of {0} and {1} is {2}”.format(num1, num2, sum))
OUTPUT:
Hence the output obtained according to the program will be,
Sum of 15 and 12 is 27.

Operators

  • Operators are special symbols in Python that carry out arithmetic or logical computation.
  • The value that the operator operates on is called the "Operand".
Operator Types:
  • a) Arithmetic Operators
  • b) Comparison (Relational) Operators
  • c) Logical (Boolean) Operators
  • d) Bitwise Operators
  • e) Assignment Operators
  • f) Special Operators
Arithmetic Operators:
  • Arithmetic Operators are used to perform mathematical operations like addition, subtraction and multiplication.
  • These are Arithmetic Operators as shown below,
Examples: +, -, *, /,%,**, //.
Program:
Write a program using (+) operator to add two numbers.
x = 10
y = 20
#printing x + y values.
Print (x + y)
OUTPUT:
Hence the output obtained according to the program will be,30.

Representation of Numbers on the number line.

Representation of numbers on number line is very easy. We represent positive numbers on the right side of the zero.

Example: 1,2,3,4,5,etc..
UNIT LENGTH:
Before going to examples one thing we should know we generally take the distance between numbers is 1 unit. user_img-lg
REPRESENTATION OF NUMBERS ON NUMBER LINE
Let’s see some examples
Example: Represent number 2 on number line.
  • Step1: Draw horizontal line and small vertical line segments as shown user_img-lg
  • Step2: Mark zero as the middle point of line as shown user_img-lg
  • Step3: Since we have to represent positive number it will be on right side of zero user_img-lg
  • Step4: Now to represent 2 so move 2 units length from zero as shown user_img-lg
This is the representation of 2
